The links to the services entry work fine in admin mode but not in visitor more. The link generated on the home page and in the Worship look like ‘http://uudanbury-dev.org/?post_type=uu_services&p=2753’ The message in visitor mode is ‘Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.’
Is it an authorization/permissions issue?
Charlie, this is a bug we’re aware of and hope to correct. The best work-around is to make your service descriptions shorter, so there is no need to click “continued” from the homepage or from the upcoming services page. I’m going to do some precise measurement of this, but it seems like descriptions should be kept to 240 characters or less to avoid this problem.
There’s another workaround we’ve been using, which is to paste our service description into the “Excerpt” field.
AWESOME suggestion, thank you!
The problem is, these service posts are being “scheduled” for a future date and public users can’t view the service post until after the scheduled date.
One solution is to force WordPress to consider service posts as “published” even with a future date. Another solution would be to develop custom meta fields that separate the service start date/time(s) from the actual post published date/time. Personally, I prefer the latter.
